Šūpuļdziesma
The boats are home, the ropes are tied,
the tide comes in on a sleepy side.
Rock-a-slow and rock-a-deep,
the little harbour's gone to sleep.
The lantern swings, the water's calm,
the night wraps round you soft and warm.
Sail away on a quiet stream —
goodnight, goodnight, and sweet the dream.
Lasīšana skaļi
Rock or sway gently in time with the "rock-a-slow" line to pair motion with the words.
Vēl kaut kas pirms miega
Miegainais mazais mākonītis
A small cloud drifts home across a quiet evening sky, saying goodnight to everything below.
Meža ezītis Sūniņš
A little hedgehog gathers soft leaves and curls up warm as the forest goes to sleep.
Bāka, kas skaitīja laivas
An old lighthouse counts the fishing boats safely home each night before it, too, can rest.
Luna, klusā lapsa
A gentle fox walks the meadow at dusk, wishing every creature a good night.
Lācis, kas kolekcionēja žāvas
A kind bear gathers everyone's yawns in a jar so the whole valley can fall asleep.
Gliemezis, kas nesa pastu
An unhurried snail delivers goodnight letters all along the garden path.
